This week...

This week was a little more "normal"....Adam was diagnosed with an ear infection on Monday, but other than that, it went pretty smoothly! :) Caleb went to the dentist for a check up and loved it.  (He is the only person I know who counts down to his dentist appointments.) He charmed the nurses (no surprise there) with his conversation skills...he left telling them that when he grew up, he would come back and give them money. They said he was welcome anytime. :)
Caleb showing off his pretty teeth!
"Oooh! Prizes!!"
I actually got around to framing and putting up the kids' school pictures. I compared each of them to the previous two years and loved seeing the transformation!
Adam, the last three years
Notice anything? The middle picture of Adam and the center and right picture of Caleb all have the same vest in them. Not intentional at all...

Adam only sucks his thumb when he goes to bed.  He used to suck his thumb way more often, and then he only did it when he was tired and was holding onto his blanket.  Now, he won't even do it unless we are laying him down in his bed.  I usually find him like this at nap time when I have to wake him up.  Sorry it is so out of focus...he hates using covers, but will allow you to pull his "snuggle blanket" (a cheap, thin fleece blanket I got for $2 at A.C. Moore) over him.  That's the blue/yellow plaid thing you see in the picture.
Such a cutie!
Every winter, Eric and I enjoy putting together a puzzle or two.  This year, I splurged and bought one with vintage candy wrappers on it from Current Magazine and we've loved it!  We realized that we needed to finish it before our Superbowl Party next weekend or we wouldn't be able to use the card table!
Finally finished!

Fun week!

This week was eventful!  Eric had a GI bug that lasted Sunday night.  Starting Monday morning, while I was working, Adam had a (very short) stomach bug episode. We thought Caleb had bypassed it, but all Monday night, he got it too.  Thankfully, and strangely, I didn't get it. We had a great week following that, and even got to go to Charlotte Friday through Sunday.  Adam by that time had contracted a horrible cold/cough, but was in pretty good spirits during the day.  Here are some pictures from throughout the week!

Miss Chris & Allie-- Can't you tell how much they love each other??
Adam stayed home on Tuesday and Wednesday so he did a lot of snuggling.  Mikey was snoozing on Adam's bed one day so Adam proceeded to place all of his blankets and stuffed animals all around him.
Adam and Mikey (hiding in the curtain's shadows) snuggling.
Adam playing with his marble run in Charlotte.  This is one of those gifts that actually "stuck", in that we gave it to him for his 2nd birthday a year ago and he STILL plays with it...almost on a daily basis!
Caleb was chosen to be the star student this week which means that he got to take Leroy, the class frog, home for the weekend and journal about what Leroy did. Here are some pictures of their adventures!

Better late than never!

Here are some pictures from the last week! Hope you enjoy!

Here, Caleb and Adam were both hiding from me underneath my bed! Love their sweet smiles!
"She found us!"
One of the days last week, we went to the park since it was so gorgeous outside! The boys had a blast kicking the soccer ball, running around, swinging, and just exploring the playground. Biggest event: Adam FINALLY went down the "tunnel slide" (twisty tube slide) and LOVED it!
"Uh, is this a smile, Mom?"
"I'm having fun!!"
"Look- I'm a monkey!"
Adam also helped me walk Angela's foster puppy on Friday and enjoyed being in charge. :)

"Awww..he's so cute!"
I had been saving these umbrellas for a birthday present but since it has been raining for the past week, and since both boys just went through a stomach bug, I thought it'd be a good time to give it to them.  Caleb's modeling his froggy one...
Ribbit, ribbit...
And, of course, Adam had to model his ducky one...

Quack, quack...
These boys are growing up too fast! :)

A few pics of the past :)

Hey look! It's Sunday, and I'm blogging! Yay for me!  Here are a few pics from past weeks and this last week. :)

Here the boys are decorating gingerbread cookies for Santa. I found these colored Cookie Icings that already had a piping tip on them! They had a blast! (And Santa MUST have enjoyed them as there were only crumbs left on the plate on Christmas morning!)

The boys for Christmas both received a gift card to Build A Bear, which they were super excited about. New Year's Eve, we got them down for a nap, and promised them that when they woke up, that we'd eat supper and then go to the mall to visit Build A Bear so they could make their special animals. All went according to plan...until we were on our way to Build A Bear and I called them to make sure they were still staying open until 9pm.  The lady on the other end replied, "Oh...we closed at 6pm." (It was 6:30pm...).  I hung up, and told the boys that they were not going to Build A Bear that evening...(Caleb started crying...Adam just kept saying "Oh MAN! Oh MAN! I wanted to make a KITTY! Now the kitty will be SAD!").   We have SUCH dramatic children. I called the lady back and she assured me that they were open on New Year's Day at 10am, so we told the boys that we'd go walk around Ingles (yay for free cookies and Starbucks!) and would go to Build A Bear the next morning. Here they are with their caramel steamers (hot frothed milk).

And here are some pictures from their Build A Bear experience the next morning. Caleb made a leapord named Cubby (he wanted to name it Leppy...but we changed it to Cubby).

And here is Adam, making his calico kitty, Callie.
